Bread Machine Recipes - Whole Wheat Iced Breakfast Bread

This bread machine recipe for whole wheat bread is suitable as is for most bread machines. Add the ingredients in the order that your machine tells you, but for the most part that will be liquids first and flour last with the yeast sprinkled on top right before inserting the baking pan into the bread machine. This is a delicious breakfast bread that you will enjoy with your morning cup of coffee.

Bread Ingredients:

2 tablespoons brown sugar. Pack it tightly into the measuring spoon.
1 1/2 teaspoons salt.
2 tablespoons canola oil. Some people prefer olive oil but I think it adds the wrong taste.
1 1/2 cups water. Lukewarm from the tap or bottled if you prefer.
1 c. whole wheat flour
3 c. unbleached white flour or bread flour. My favorite is King Arthur brand.
1 3/4 teaspoons yeast.
Optional: almonds or raisins

Icing Ingredients:

1/2 stick butter
2 drops of vanilla
1/2 pound powdered sugar
milk to consistency

Let the bread bake through to completion, about 3.5 hours. Take the finished bread out of the baking container and let it cool on a rack. You can use the time to make the icing. For the icing, melt the butter in a microwave until it is just becomes pourable. You don't need it to be red hot. Add the melted butter, vanilla, and half the powdered sugar to a bowl. Add a little milk and a little more sugar in several batches until you use up all the sugar and get a consistency that pours easily in a thin stream. If it's too thick add a few more drops of milk at a time, and if it's too thin add a teaspoon or so of powdered sugar at a time until the consistency looks right.

Move the bread to a large dish to catch the drippings and pour the icing over it. Let it cool and enjoy. You could probably substitute 1 c. of wheat flour for 1 c. of unbleached flour but read the directions for your bread machine. Many bread machine recipes never use more than 1 c. of wheat flour.

If you are shopping for a bread machine the Zojirushi X20 Home Bakery Supreme has some attractive features. It makes a conventionally shaped loaf of bread with selectable light, medium, or dark crust. It has two kneading paddles to handle the stiffest dough, which also unfortunately leave two holes in the bottom of the bread when removed, and a 13 hour ahead timer so you can accurately time your fresh baked breakfast bread. One particularly unique and attractive feature is the quick sourdough starter cycle that prepares a light sourdough starter in two hours instead of the seven days it takes with the conventional method.

Panasonic Bread Machine Review

It's difficult to find a negative comment about Panasonic bread making appliances. The long-established SD253 model is the one which nearly every comparative review named as the best buy for some considerable time.

Panasonic replaced this with the SD255 and for any one searching for a kitchen bread maker, this remains the model to purchase. Aside from that, the 2 are similar, and share similar instruction manual. Expect to pay about the same price for both, and is the reason why just about everybody buys the SD255.

But making bread with these kind of bread making machines is so absurdly simple the manual's writers manage to outline the entire process in a two-page spread. Put the blade in the pan. Choose the bread type on the front panel. Choose the loaf size, crust color, and start time. Wait 2-5 hours for the bread to cook.

If your domestic agreements are as unruly as ours, a breadmaker may save everyone a bunch of cash too. Numerous times a month, a certain member of our house will glance at the empty bread bin in the morning and declare: we are out of bread - I could pop into the superstore on the way home tonight. By that evening, the bread bin does indeed have fresh content - but alongside are 2 or 3 carrier bags full of the stuff which shops are so intelligent at getting you to buy when you pop in for something completely not related. The machine likely paid for itself within 3 or 4 months.

So, what kind of bread can the Panasonic SD-255 produce? There are 7 main baking modes: basic, unprocessed wheat, rye, French, Italian, sandwich and gluten-free. The user guide gives 7 pages of recipes, from a plain white loaf to pesto and pine nut or tomato focaccia loaves.

Don't forget that breadmakers like this do an excellent job of making dough too - if you master the pizza base recipe, you'll never buy ones from the superstore again. Eventually, there is a bake only mode if you need to use the machine to cook many sorts of cake.

Reading the instructions took five minutes, and preparing the mix took about one minute. We tried out the fast bake mode, so that the loaf was prepared only two hours later. Keeping in mind we used packet mix ingredients, we were really impressed with the results that we saw.

A Few Reasons Why You Might Want to Own a Bread Machine

By now most people have heard of bread machines. The name alone gives you an idea of what your getting; a machine that makes bread. While this is true there is so much more to having your own. Not only will you save money, you'll have access to a variety of bread, and it's extremely easy to use.
Save Money
The first benefit we're going to talk about is cost. You'll be saving money using a bread maker as opposed to going to the store. Loaves are around 3-5 dollars in the store, and on the higher end if you are actually looking for bread that is "organic" or "all natural". Depending on what type of bread you make and the ingredients you could be looking as low as .50 – 75 cents a loaf.
Variety
You can make all different types of bread in a bread maker. Some examples include banana bread, nut bread, wheat bread, apple bread, and fruit bread. Gluten free bread cycles are also available on some units for those who can't tolerate Gluten products.
The more advanced models have different settings aside from bread making. Bread makers can also make jam, cakes, and meatloaf,
Most bread makers also perform double duty as a means to create dough. Some people use this feature as the main focus having purchased a bread machine. You can create dough to make croissants, pizza, and rolls, or just to finish a loaf in the oven.

Benjamin Jamani would like to help you pick the
best bread maker for you, your friends, and your family. He began to research bread machines, and in the process created a website reporting what he found. You can find out what he says, along with top 10 lists, best recipe books, and additional articles here on his bread maker reviews blog.

Best Whole Wheat Bread Recipe

For good health it is best to have as much whole wheat in bread as you can. This recipe has at least 90% whole wheat. Try it out. It will rise nicely and have a great texture and flavor.

Wheat Bread

Make sure the paddles in the pan are in the exact orientation (usually in the same direction if you have two paddles.)

It legitimately is best to use a kitchen scale for exact measurement. You will have better results.

Place 340 grams of pure water into the bread engine pan.
Add about 1 Tablespoon of butter, cut into two pieces.

Next quantum into a bowl the following ingredients:
50 grams of nuts or seeds. (You may use cracked wheat in place of seeds. If you do so, add this to the water so it can soak, and agenda for a delayed bake by at least 5 hours.)
50 grams of bread flour
200 grams of whole wheat flour
200 grams of white whole wheat flour (it is less bitter than whole wheat)
40 grams of white sugar
20 grams of powdered buttermilk
10 grams of powdered malt
10 grams of kosher salt
Stir these ingredients, then add to the water in the pan.

Make a small indent in the dry ingredient mix and place in it 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry (not rapid) yeast. You may use a type of yeast designed for a quick-rise; if you do, make sure to set your bread maker appropriately.

Yield: one 1.5 lb. Loaf

For a legitimately fine bread, get ready this in the evening and set your bread engine to have the bread ready for breakfast. Again, this bread will rise nicely and the taste will be fantastic.
Enjoy. For your health!

Delicious Nutritious Bread Machine Recipes

Best Whole Wheat Bread Recipe
For good health it is best to have as much whole wheat in bread as you can.  This recipe has at least 90% whole wheat.  Try it out.  It will rise nicely and have a great texture and flavor.
Make sure the paddles in the pan are in the correct orientation (usually in the same direction if you have two paddles.)
It really is best to use a kitchen scale for accurate measurement.  You will have better results.
Place 340 grams of pure water into the bread machine pan.
Add about 1 Tablespoon of butter, cut into two pieces.
Next measure into a bowl the following ingredients:
50 grams of nuts or seeds. (You may use cracked wheat in place of seeds.  If you do so, add this to the water so it can soak, and program for a delayed bake by at least 5 hours.)
50 grams of bread flour
200 grams of whole wheat flour
200 grams of white whole wheat flour (it is less bitter than whole wheat)
40 grams of white sugar
20 grams of powdered buttermilk
10 grams of powdered malt
10 grams of kosher salt
Stir these ingredients, then add to the water in the pan.
Make a small indent in the dry ingredient mix and place in it 2 1/4 teaspoons of active dry (not rapid) yeast.  You may use a type of yeast designed for a quick-rise; if you do, make sure to set your bread maker appropriately.
Yield: one 1.5 lb. loaf
For a really fine bread, prepare this in the evening and set your bread machine to have the bread ready for breakfast.  Again, this bread will rise nicely and the taste will be fantastic.
Enjoy.  For your health!

6 Key Elements to Making Whole Wheat Challah With A Bread Machine

Making your own Whole Wheat Challah is easy, inexpensive and enables you to know exactly what ingredients are used in it. Buying commercially produced Challah is not difficult; but knowing exactly what ingredients are used to produce it is less clear. I make my own because I want to be sure that all ingredients are healthy for my family to consume. This article teaches you 6 key elements to making Whole Wheat Challah with a Bread Machine.

Equipment needed:

Wheat Bread

Bread machine or Food Processor to knead the dough

Flat Baking Pan or Cookie Sheet

Ingredients:

¾ cup of water

1 ½ tablespoon Canola or Safflower oil

1 ½ tablespoon Honey or Date Syrup

1 tablespoon of ground Flax seeds

2 eggs

3 cups of Whole Wheat Flour

4 teaspoons of Gluten

1 teaspoon of Salt

1 ½ teaspoons of Active Dry Yeast

For this recipe, I use a Bread machine for kneading and rising. You can use a Food processor or knead the dough by hand, if you prefer. If using a Bread machine, be sure to read the User Manual to find out in which order you need to add the ingredients for your specific machine.

The 6 Key Elements to Making Whole Wheat Challah are:

1. Add all ingredients to Bread machine and start the kneading/rising process (requires 1 ½ hours for my machine).

2. Remove dough from machine and divide into 3 equal portions. Pull and squeeze each part until it looks like ropes about 12 inches long and 1 ½ inches in diameter.

3. Braid the 3 ropes of dough and pinch the ends together.

4. Put the braided dough on an oiled baking pan or cookie sheet, cover with a damp towel and set it aside in a warm place for 30 minutes to rise.

5. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F/190 degrees C

6. Bake for 30 to 40 minutes.

Be sure to check it after 20 minutes to make sure that it is not browning too fast. When the Homemade Whole Wheat Challah is ready, it should have a beautiful brown color. Enjoy.

The Benefits of Using a Bread Machine

Making bread may seem like an overwhelming task, however it does not have to be; and the benefits of making bread in the home rather than using store bought bread are numerous. With the use of a bread maker, baking bread is no longer that daunting chore, but it can be rewarding, healthy and economic.

One great plus to using a bread maker machine is that there is always something to be said for making homemade food. Children enjoy eating things more that they have made themselves, and so do adults. With the ease of different bread makers, it is just a matter of putting in the ingredients in the right amounts, and the machine does all the work, from kneading to baking. Many machines even have crust settings, so the crust can be anything from lightly baked to golden brown, whatever the baker prefers. Who does not like fresh bread, still warm from baking?

Wheat Bread

Another pro to using a bread maker is that it is much healthier than many store bought breads. No preservatives or additives or unhealthy ingredients will be in it, only what the baker wants to add. Whole grains can be used to create artisan, healthful breads. Many of the best bread machines come with recipes to make anything from whole wheat bread to challah or dinner rolls. Traditional yeast bread is not the only thing the bread machine can do; think dough for pizza or cinnamon rolls, and quick breads, too, like zucchini or chocolate chip bread.

Using a bread machine is also economic, both in time and money. It is less expensive to bake bread than to buy it and it becomes a great time saving feature as the machine does the work.

When purchasing one, finding the best bread machine is important. Think about the size of the machine and how big the loaves will be. If there are less people in a family, a smaller machine may do the trick. Decide on what programmable features are desired; the more features, the easier the bread will be to make, but the more expensive the machine will be. Some have delay timers that will allow the bread to be freshly made upon waking up in the morning.

Using a bread maker provides many benefits, from an economic stand point to one of health and nutrition. Once there is one in the home, store bought bread may become a thing of the past.

The Benefits of Using a Bread Machine

Where can you find the best bread machine? Don't buy a bread maker until you have read the bread machine reviews at http://www.bestbreadmachine.org These reviews are taken right from the source - the people who have bought breadmakers and use them.

Four Fabulous Reasons to Purchase A Bread Making Machine and Let It Do All the Hard Work of Kneading

Kneading is a fun and enjoyable aspect of making bread at home. The action of rolling, pulling, pushing are the simple actions of bread kneading that allow your dough to take shape.

Though sometimes you just feel like a break from all that hard work of kneading the dough, and that's where a bread making machine comes in handy.

Wheat Bread

Learning how to use such a machine is as simple as placing your ingredients into the bread pan, and pressing the start button. Before you know it, you can look forward to eating fresh, tasty loaves of bread straight out of your trusty machine.

Slices of bread served with even a simple topping of butter and jam make for a tasty snack. Though making bread the old, fashioned way by hand is fun, using a bread machine can save you money, time and effort.

Here are four fabulous reasons to purchase a bread machine so that you can make delicious loaves of bread and baked goods for the family to enjoy:

Reason 1: Make Delicious Loaves Every Day

Bread is a staple part of many diets today, and eating high quality bread made using your machine really beats eating commercial bread from your supermarket. Avoid preservatives in commercial bread and instead use high quality ingredients for making bread at home.

Reason 2: High Return for A Small Investment

Devices such as a bread machine are versatile and can make many other products besides bread.

For a small outlay that will cost you less than a month's supply of bread for the family, you can fresh bread made at home every day whenever you like. You will soon recover your investment in your machine in no time at all.

Reason 3: Make an Amazing Variety of Baked Goods

In addition to making many different varieties of bread, be creative and expand your repertoire. Try making dough for pizza and sweet pastries, cakes, and jams in your machine.

The variety of baked goods that you can make in your machine is only limited by your imagination. There are plenty of recipe books that make delicious baked goods using a bread machine.

Reason 4: Make Healthy Loaves as Part of Keeping a Healthy Diet

If one of your goals is to maintain a healthy diet, adding home made healthy whole wheat bread to your diet is a fantastic choice. Rather than eating white commercial loaves of bread containing preservatives, try making healthy whole wheat or multi grain bread in your machine.

You can enjoy tasty loaves knowing that your home made version is a nutritious option that is packed full of essential vitamins and nutrients.

For added nutrition, add pumpkin and sunflower seeds to your recipe. These seeds are rich in minerals such as manganese, phosphorous and magnesium. You could also add linseed, which is another powerhouse seed containing omega 3.

Wheat Bread
